I cannot believe our luck. A shelter called us today with just the dog we've been looking for. This one is a Great Pyrenes/Anatolian Shepherd mix. He is four months old and his name is Max. Our girls (hens) are a little indignant but they'll get over it - especially when he protects them from whatever tries to get to them. Max is already wanting to 'play' with the girls but they're not having any part of it - yet! If they don't get to know him now, he'll outgrow the age where they can gang up on him and peck his nose.
We got him for a $60 donation and I'm telling you what... this dog is has such a great nature! We are so happy we waited for the right one.
Does anyone have any training tips?

Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do.
