Looking for beautiful Breeds

Yup! My suggestion also 😀 I got mine as hatching eggs from, I think, Shady Grove? Farm on eBay. The original developer of Mosaics is Gold Feather Farm. Yeah they are pricey! The eggs I got though were fairly reasonable IMO
Ya! I think they’re beauty is worth the price, plus it comes with 2 surprise eggs! If you have a 100% hatch rate then your really got your money’s worth! Ya I was only able to find them at Gold Feather but I didn’t really look farther into them after knowing I couldn’t add to my flock again this year

Those prices are ridiculous! I know you think you are missing out, but do not worry. Mosaics are only a mutt, and you could created some yourself by crossing Cemanis with barnyard chickens! While they won’t have the same name, they will be equally beautiful!
I agree prices are well... pricey. BUT once you have fully developed hens and Roos from those eggs, you could sell hatching eggs online to (if that is allowed by GFF) for some money- it’s kind of a good deal if you think about it.

I personally can’t afford them but hey- the beauty is worth the price for the people who CAN!

Flower hens are beautiful hardy and friendly. I love mine!! Here are examples. No two look quite the same and there are many different colors!

It’s expensive but not really much more than a lot other rare or show quality breeds or whatever I’ve seen. And definitely far better than the original farm’s $25 per egg  :th $40 per chick :th seems the second place is trying to make them more affordable?? Which is nice. But definitely still pricey! Not sure what the first place charges for chicks but they don’t ship. But I discovered they’re actually somewhat local to me! But I have enough chickens :lau but that’s neat.

I tried to look at my purchase history for the eggs, but I can’t click on it?? It looks like I got 5+1 for $15, but I don’t recall if shipping was free or not. Probably not. Also got lucky that no one else bid on that particular lot. Also if I recall, with all or 5/6 were fertile and ended up with four hatching. From there 2 suffered unrelated demises so I am left with what I think is a pullet and a roo. All of them were very fussy and vocal! The two left seem small compared to some of their similar age ‘siblings’, but healthy. So I don’t know how “medium” LF they are actually going to be. Despite size, the pullet seems pretty dominant with even larger chicks, and the suspected roo ... well if he is a roo he’s going to make it very hard on me to keep him on the freezer camp list. Unafraid and constantly getting on my back and shoulder to pose. He’d make a good selfie chicken! Very hard to ignore him. The pullet isn’t very interested in me, but if I grab her up she doesn’t have too much of a fit or freak out.

I'm trying to think of different breeds I want to get. I don't want just 'normal' birds (leghorns, orpingtons or australorps, normal birds like that.)

Wishlist:
-Heat tolerant! I'll be living in AZ in a few years and I can't have the A.c. in their barn XD
- cold tolerant too because we will be in the part if the state that gets a little below freezing at its coldest
-Broody wouldn't hurt, love my phoenixes going brood and just increasing themselves without my help
- Pretty. I want beautiful birds, with variety in colors and 'extras
Speckled Sussex. Mine is a great layer, is heat and cold tolerant, and is beautiful and friendly. I’ll see if she goes broody in the spring. She’s experiencing her first winter.

I know! They aren’t sooo expensive but they aren’t average price at ALL. Just show prices. Unfortunately I can’t add to the flock either :barnie
