Loss of feathers and lethargic

I didn't mean the rooster was being mean to her. The feathers look worn from mating is all. That happens, even if a rooster is gentle, over time, the feathers can get broken and worn. The ones that look stripped though are a little different. I would follow up with the dusting.

Underneath her, I do see her keel bone, she is probably a bit underweight. The scabbing can be from roosting, getting into/out of nesting boxes, etc.
You mention they get scraps from a local food market, does that include a source of protein or do you provide a poultry feed to supplement?
We killed an ermine in the barn yesterday he didn’t kill any chickens he was fairly small probably adolescent could he have tried to attack her and pulled out the feathers ?

I don't know, about the Ermine, this look like more long term feather loss. Broken feathers and ones in poor shape will not be replaced until she molts. The feather shaft is still intact.

If youth can check her first thing in the morning before she gets thi eating feel her crop. It should be empty. Keep sliding your hand down and feel her keel bone. Will be in the middle of her chest. Does it feel like it's sticking out? Keep sliding your hand down, you'll feel where it changes from her breast to abdomen. Does it feel like it's bloated out? Some of the knowing comes from experience. If you can feel one of your girls that is fine (not one of the broodies) and kind of compare.
Here's a link there's a picture of the basic anatomy.

Hey her crop definitely feels full even though I know she hasn’t been eating I compared it to another chicken who has been eating all day felt very similar

Well she passed away this evening :( will be doing a biopsy tomorrow to hopefully figure out what the cause was
I'm very sorry:hugs

It would be good if you could do a necropsy to see if you find anything. Will you do it yourself? If so, post some photos and we will try to help you figure it out.
