palomino, i just happened to meet these people at a small animal acution this week end and they were there looking for barred rock roo. BUT they said today they didn't want only one, they wanted two that knew each other. So you don't want my luck it was short lived.

I used Freecycle to re home a couple of my roos.

It worked great. You could try that.

They gave me some BR hatching eggs, so i could get some hens, to go with my rooster. For now Penny will stay. I will keep the name Penny, I hope he doesn't get a complex.

i have bad news........ penny crowed this morning. not just once like over and over again. not very good but just kept on trying. i didn't want to eggcept it but she is really a he. you all were right i should know better than to doubt you.

don't get me wrong it was cute as could be. sounded funny kept cracking. like a boys voice changing.

aaaw *sigh maybe he is a she who thinks she is a he . and will still lay eggs and crow we thought mine was a roo because it makes funny noises but it lays eggs. so maybe.....but then again maybe i am just special.....lucky for her that she laid a egg just before we went to collect her for the lady that wanted her.
