I have a situalion….8 days ago our little red hen (Yara) went missing. This is one of two that my other neighbor gave to me about 3 weeks before. I had been trying to get these 2 to merge with my 7 girls. My neighbor called and said she may have her in her yard flock. I asked if she had a yellow band around her foot but it was not there. I went over to my neighbors and got her and put her in her pen with her sister (Gretchen) who immediately pecked her…no sweet reunion. I began wondering if she really isn’t my Yara Because before they were always together. If a hen is away for 8 days, do they forget their former life or do I have a completely different bird? She has been completely out in the open for 8 days at the neighbors.
