WOW I am so so lucky to have you guys

Ok going to get Rob's bator - (I just produced the mugs for BYC for him so that's maybe why he is being so nice.....NAH! he's just a great guy!) this afternoon

I have 14 eggs, how many do you think I should leave under Mabel..just 3 or so?

And that is exactly why I LOVE BYC!! I've never seen another forum/community with so many kind and helpful people. As an added bonus I never have to think about, let alone worry about, what my kids might see/read when they come and read over my shoulder here.

ok so then in that case, this is what she is sitting on

3 sicilian buttercup
3 barnevelders
3 speckled sussex
3 white orpingtons
2 Silver laced wyandotte

do I keep a whole breed under her or for the sake of experiment split them up???

I'd split them up or leave the breeds your most excited about under Mable. Incubators intimidate me (getting ready for my first try with a LG still air/no turner

) and I'm inclined to think that Mable is going to do a great job as a fist time mamma hen given the devotion she's shown so far.

ETA: Cute little munchkins you've got there! This is such a fun family hobby.

Split them whatever way your comfortable with, I was just thinking that if say the buttercups were one of the breeds you're REALLY excited about to do the split in Mables favor because I *think* her hatch rate is likely to be higher then the bators. I should proof read my posts better, I know those are Rob's girls, but tacking that comment onto a post directed towards you sure didn't make that very clear. Did Mable ever show any interest in her breakfast?
