Oh, Lordy! The poo poo dance! How funny! That's exactly what I call that move when they do that! Only the babies do it...

All of you in the Phoenix area:

My Peoria/Sun City grandmother's blind, elderly, asthmatic Pug got out today, because someone left the gate open. Grandma has poor vision and couldn't go far to find it. After a long search by her helper who checks on Grama daily, it was discovered that the folks on the corner caught it, put it in their HOT garage, and called Animal Control, who killed it immediately because it was, "breathing funny."

Does anyone know of a Pug rescue in the area that doesn't charge hundreds of dollars, require 6 pages of paperwork and check on the animals regularly? Grama wants a new dog and can even take a blind, elderly dog, but she's on a fixed income, 85, tired and doesn't want strangers in her house once a month.

I feel so badly for her- what a horrible thing this ridiculous Animal Control department did. It was a clean, well-groomed, trained, elderly dog in obviously well-kept condition. How DARE they not give the owners some time or seek a vet's opinion on the breathing. I'm livid and very sad. That dog was her only companion!

BAD WORDS!!! MANY LOUD BAD WORDS!!!

They are pretty neat huh? DD told me about them and I found the layman's term for them right away. Thought they were cool so I sent her to NM to go and get me some for my birthday last year. She found some pretty neat ones and there is a place not too far from where I live they can be found just have to wait for mud season to end.

Oh that is sooooo terrible! I have never owned one but I have seen pugs and they always sound like they are panting hard. What were the AC people thinking? Soooo sorry to hear about this and I hope you find another one for your grandmother!

There needs to be some kind of reprimand for whomever made the decision to euthanize that dog!! I'd be writing letters to every city official who even MIGHT have something to say about it. Contact the news station, the paper, etc. THEY need to replace her dog. (Not that he was "replaceable", but you know what I mean).

Was he not microchipped? If he was and they euthanized him anyway, that's a great big

I'm so sorry for the loss of her beloved companion!!!

I haven't commented much on the flapper pics, but I'm laughing uproariously at all of them- I'll make a page and make noise about them so folks will know about the contest once I'm bored in my hotel tomorrow. I have too much to do now!!

Oh ChooksChick - I am mortified. I raised pugs for years. Breathing funny indeed! I am sooo sorry this happened. And no, her dog is not replaceable, but just like an additional child, a different dog will give her something warm and loving to console herself with. Oh, my heart just hurts reading that!
