I would like to join in too! Sounds fun. I won't be able to separate my girls until Thanksgiving (moving to new place then). So I might have to make do with shipped eggs. But Then I can see how the new PO handles my eggs.

I do have 2 chickens in it during the day. Cheryl gave me 2 english orps (a cockeral and a pullet). They spend the night right now in a dog crate in a secure building.

Remember .... this is a "ghetto coop," I used only stuff from my junk pile. Ugly, but functional ....

Can't do metal roofing here, poor things would be oven roasted in the summer. The real question is...............is it water tight?

gahh!!!, i hope to be setting eggs on the 9, not the 13th :? that's the only way, unless i keep eggs waiting for 4 days :? this sucks

I love the ghetto coop, it has great character! I think the weathered paint is awesome. We have a building here that has weathered paint like that except its the most hideous color of sea foam green.

I think I'll join the hatch if my girls ever start laying again. This cool weather has them all screwed up...slackers.

I've had the bator unplugged since July b/c I had a baby, so I'm itching to plug it back in. It's probably a good thing that the girls aren't laying or I'd probably have it set up now. The baby's room use to be the incubator room, so now I have to find somewhere new to put it.

Now, maybe I could use that for this compound. You guys are all too kind. I made another ghetto coop, and I painted it, so it is now, "The Red Coop."

It is 8x6 or 8x8 or something like that, and I hooked it onto the breeder barn. It was also made from my junk pile .... I love building things from junk.
