Oh I'd love to. I actually wanted to cook today. I bought stuff for homemade chicken noodle soup (for the boyfriend) and homemade cabbage soup for me (the vegetarian). Plus Gump Girls bread recipe and The Wanna Be Country Girls butter recipe and someones amish apple pie recipe from the BYC cookbook... I had major munchies.
Only I was foiled by the weather. Going out to my appointment and the store took 3x longer than it should have THEN I got stuck at the bottom of my long, uphill driveway (with AWD and studded snow tires much to my chagrin) so then I had to shovel myself out.
Then I had to snowblow and shovel the chicken run (although it's still snowing and blowing I figured I'd better get started on it) and get my lessons on how to use a plow.
I'm currently enjoying Velveeta shells and cheese and a beer.
Maybe I'll cook this weekend, for I go back to work tomorrow.
Well , I may be doing worse . I woke up late , after catching up some lost sleep from Christmas , to a spikeing still air ; 102 + on the low end of the cycle .
I lifted the lid to dump heat , and although I was not planning on candleing at all this set , candled 4 ; 3 clears and a chick . I'll go back in a minute to see if its running at a better temp , and candle all or at least most . I hope those returning to the bator are not cooked .
Sorry for you (and everyone else) not seeing good growth rates. I blame mine on our freakishly cold weather. It is not normal for us to have freezing temps during the day here. I don't like it and the birds CERTAINLY don't like it.
awe I feel sorry for all yal poor hatchaholics that have lost eggies. I am still rooting for ya to get some cute fuzzies though!
Love checking in to see what all yal crazy folks are up to.
Here is a random picture of Jester not so happy because Lester would not let him have the sunny spot. So he is all fluffed up without a sunning spot. (call it picture therapy)
I have to admit though, I'm curious on the unknown egg.
So are we! Someone (hubby) forgot to write on it when he was collecting eggs. We compared it to others and are still not sure of what it is. Possibilities are Polish, Silkie, or Mottled d'Uccle. I think it is too big for a Silkie egg and am leaning towards d'Uccle. Only a couple more days and we will know!
68 of mine went to pre-lockdown tonight.I needed some bator space so moved them off turners and sorted them into 2 hatchers. 3 of my aviator roo eggs went in the bator tonight..really hoping they haven't gotten too cold so I will have some of his chicks.
I need some new chick fluff to cheer me up...the older kids hatched on Christmas Eve!!
