Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

If it gets me the incubator I'll go downstairs right now to an over crowded waiting room and crow for a roomful of sick people.

Now THAT I want to see! It would almost be worth an incubator just to see it!

Me too! That would be toooo funny....

The only good thing about all this rain - and I am so chaffed it is a really nice day and I am AT WORK - is that it will have softened up the adobe into muck enough for me to pull out some T-posts to revamp the perimeter of my run. I have two coops and a duck house to put together this 3 day weekend after I deal with any hatchlings.

I want a picture of YOU standing outside, crowing at the roosters, trying to get them to crow.

Any of you guys ever been to a Crowing Contest? I entered one at the Harvest festival and won with 28 crows in 10 minutes from my Serama Roo.

It is absolutely hilarious to watch all the new chicken owners jumping up and down and calling to get their birds to crow. All I have to do is walk outside and say "Rooster, rooster" and I have a nice chorus from my OEGB roo, Macho Man.

This thread is crazy busy and so much fun I can't stand it. I'm wondering if I can persuade my preschool that we need to show the children the wonders of chicken husbandry! And shopping for 'bators...

Really? I have never even heard of one! Sounds like fun!

No pips yet, but I took an excited picture of my eggs this morning.

Five nice pretty Coturnix eggs. Two from a pen of tuxedoes and the others from who knows where. I just love my friend, she brought these eggs over when I asked if she had some.

I have a little 3-7 egg incubator I can donate as a prize for the Easter hatch. Say, a contest for "Best picture or video of people crowing at their roos"?
