I had very decent hatching so far on my barnyard mutts (Turken roo x various moms)...

About half the chicks would be NN. We'd have to wait until it warms up though to ship from this tundra.

Once Mother Nature cooperates, I'll love to try them!

Halo, I received 1 blue egg and it hatched and in the weirdest fashion to me. Pipped and zipped without delay while the others Pipped around 9AM and hatched around 9PM.

I hope it is a female, it is so BEAUTIFUL. Small and dainty so I am hopeful.

2 of the DARK colored eggs went into lockdown and 1 just hatched while I was having breakfast. The other, there is NO action. I could hardly see through it but the 3rd was not fertile so not sure about the holdout.

It is mighty crowded in the incubator right now but there are a few more zipping so I will wait to open it.

How funny!! They were hungry weren't they!
7 am??? Mine are lucky to get let out by 9 am on the weekends. When I open the door, it's like a small scale version of "Running with the Bulls"..........

Had to interrupt my catch-up spree-read to comment:

No, the 'baby' is our mutt, Daisy, who has to wear clothes because she's half-naked- she whines, jumps up on our bed and peels back the covers to burrow in!! She has to sleep under the covers or she whines and shakes all night. If only we had dogs who could man-up to the garage!!

OK- I'm finally caught up. I still have a couple of FBCM pips & one out (my eggs), and one duckling out I'd set for Revolutionmama with her Christmas hatch of Silver & Coronation Sussex. The rest are taking their time and placidly wiggling within the egg. I am soooooooooo careless compared to you folks! I go opening and rummaging around in there, leave the lid off for 5 minutes sometimes if there's something I need to manage... on the RCom, anyway. On the LG, I go in through a window. That's why I hate the Hovabator- I can't get int there easily. I use it for ducks and geese- this year it will also be used for Peafowl. The tall dome is way better than the LG for big eggs.

Well. I'm off to throw on the thermal bibs and go out out to the farm. Fricken frigid frosty front came in and ruined my Spring-like temps...I was enjoying the 70* this week!!

I can't stand it when that happens.. And what doesn't help at all, is my DH hovering over the bator saying.... "It needs help, I don't think it can get out!! Are you going to help it.. I think you need to help it.. It's going to die like that.. WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO HELP IT???"

I helped them both out since they have been pipped for more than 24 hours. The membrane was not quite dry, but pretty thick, and these two also popped out when the shell was half off. I hope I don't have to do this with ALL of them!!!!

Just PM me when it warms up. Might be able to get these to you for the Easter hatch. Although I'm not even sure when Easter is. April? May?

So sorry about your little Icelandic. Mine have been notoriously hardy little guys but we have had one or two with bad legs as well over the year I have been hatching them. KNow you did your best for it.
