Of the remaining eggs in my brinsea, two Icelandics are piped, nada for the rest... At 3PM I'm going to start putting holes in the tops.
**NO!!** You're not!! You'll potentially dry them out, and that's horrible!! You can candle to see it they're pipped through the membrane, and that's all....they aren't late yet, remember.
(Did I do okay? I'm really not a bossy cow, but we all need to help our pals sit on their hands.)
What a night. The power went off I had to drive 7 miles to the horse barn to plug it in. I have 3 chicks so far. I don't know what will happen now I guess I was wait and see.

Thanks... I needed that... I'm an ImPatient Peter.
Okay- I have a contest for encouraging and uplifting those poor folks with nothing going on.
I'm thinking of a number, and I'm pm-ing it to 2 uber-hatchers who are in NO WAY eligible: Mahonri and Kathy.
The number is between 1 and 7999 ( the number of posts we'll likely end with!).
Whoever has NO CHICKS on the Jan 5th needs to post their guess of a number 1-7999.
The person who is closest will be the recipient of:
DRUM ROLL!!!
A $15 gift certificate towards fertile eggs from our very own BARGAIN! Nancy Garry has some of the loveliest birds around, and this should help you get over the poor hatch of this event.
The next 2 closest guesses will each win a $10 gift certificate to my auctions here or on ebay (user 'beakhouseeggs')
