As for candling: I only candle twice. I know others here who only candle on lockdown or don't candle at all.

We set eggs at noon on the 11th
We candle the evening of the 21st.
We candle and lockdown the afternoon or early evening of the 29th.
We wait for pips and zips, while we make certain our brooders are ready.

Be certain your camera batteries are charged and ready to go.

DH said push the button push the button, so I did.

Bob's Henhouse :

Lotsapaint, My grandpa had a ranch in Paso Robles, my great uncle owned Smith's Sporting goods, brother and his family still live there, and 2nd cousin is really big with the Pioneer Museum, and I went to 6th grade there at Fly Speck, I mean Glenn Speck School.

My mom graduated from Paso High in 1949 that school is now Flamson but the last earthquake did that building in but they just finished rebuilding it and it looks a lot like the old one. Weirder yet my husbands great uncle was the pastor of Plymouth Congrational Church it was damaged pretty good too in that earthquake I've lived here since 1981.....What ranch? I've ridden on many of them

Lotsapaints, it was just his own little 30 acre ranch on Adelaida, almost across from Jardines. Dad got it when grandpa died and split it up.

Grandpa was a silversmith. Ever see bits, bridles or spurs with WWW stamped on it before it meant world wide web? That was Wes Wimmer. My dad graduated from there, but I don't know what year.

I'd like to join in... does it have to be chickens? or can I hatch my quails? also are there any egg limits? or can I hatch 5 eggs or 100 eggs?

Right now we have folks hatching chickens, quail and ducks!

You can hatch 2000 if you've got them.
