Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

oh I am sorry Mahonri. That happened to us a couple of times too. My only joy was one time when the hawk tried to do a snatch and grab and picked a chick that was too heavy. Scared the chick half to death but we got a good laugh at the hawk.

Mahonri, Sorry about your little naked neck, those little stinks are so cute. Hope your DS gets to go hunting some more and gets that hawk, with those loud high pitch sound things that scare off hawks.

e.t.a the "hunting" device I was referring too.

But I'm not sure about all hawks.

nope, they're all protected. Huge fine if you're caught.

Oooops! Sorry. I meant getting him with those loud high pitched sound devices that scare off Hawks. Or scaring him off with rocks.

Wow , I did not realize this thread was still running .
I believe its unlawful to even harass a bird of prey . It is possible to get a permit to capture or kill one ; but I believe most people find a solution to take care of the problem quietly .

I am going to take pictures this weekend of my TJs chicks. I did mention I hatched some Trader Joe's eggs for this event, right?

Also, see if anyone can confirm the breed of the one chick that wasn't hatched from Trader Joes's eggs, which I seriously doubt is a BR as claimed.

Mahonri, I am so sorry about your NN chick! I promise to make faces at every hawk I see for the rest of this month, just to show 'em!!!

Some of my White and Buffs. Taken with my new camera but I had to upload them on PhotoBucket to put them on here. They just dumped their water now I need to clean it out again. It doesn't matter what I put in there they tip it over. and they can now fly to the top of the play pen and roost there. They need more room.
