Ahem......last broody hatch, I took pipped eggs out from under her and looked at them. I didn't MEAN to.....just didn't realize they had pipped so early.....they all hatched.

If there's someone who's got idle hands when it comes to incubation, it is me. Remember when I DROPPED a Tolbunt egg? That I paid for in full? Oh and of course the fact that I over-candled them. . . . I think to death, too.

And of course there's the fact that if a chick seems to be in any sort of trouble trying to zip or hatch out, oh! I am so bad. . . If it has troubles for more than 2 hours, the incubator is bound to open up, and a hand is bound to sweep on in and "save the day."

. . . . I've learned from many times now that most of my "saved" chicks end up dying anyway, either they've got some weird deformity in terms of growth rates or they're just plain too weak. . . .

One day I was looking for chicken themed quilt patterns, and I came across this.....

I laughed so hard, I had tears runnin' down my face...

Here is one of the stories. There are quite a few...

Not too awfully long ago, my brother flew our Mother down for Easter. It was a wonderful family gathering. Good company, great food, nice sunny day, all the family in attendance. Uncle Marshall was showing off his new home, giving us all the grand tour. Such a neat backyard!

My boys were prowling around in the shrubbery when the oldest let out a holler. Throwing his arms out, he shouts, "Everybody Stop!! I see a lizard!"

He sneaks up ever so softly, giving us a play by play. “I can see it good... it's not moving... it's a Big Brown Lizard!"

He is very excited now, and the whole world stands still as he leans forward, preparing for the capture. He crouches, SPRINGS and makes a grab for the lizard!! Then FALLS to the ground in a heap!

Gasping for air,"It squished!! I think it's...Oh My Gosh!!! IT'S DOG POOP!"

All of the adults are now snickering and snorting, Grandma even wets her pants. Some things you can never live down :)

I still have tears running down my face from reading "California Beach"

The bathroom one reminded me of my Brother and Sister in Law. Neither ever turns on the light.

My SIL had gone in to go pottie and my brother who was sick threw up all over her while she was sitting on the throne. I still laugh when I think about it.
