I was gonna say something, too! By the way .... current temp here is 54 unseasonable degrees!

Bob's Henhouse :

I'm hoping for a little snow tomorrow morning. There is an outside chance. We are supposed to be 400 to 900 feet below the snow level, but..

Then you will have frozen water to take care of. I hate frozen water. I am soooo happy it is above freezing! Forecasted 64 tomorrow. This is just unreal !

I think tomorrow a.m. will be ok, but I'm going to have to get the pipes all wrapped for Fri a.m.. Wind speed was 25 mph a minute ago. hoping the tarp stays over the hens AZ room.

Icelandics moving out?? If I could get my black cochins to quit being broody, I could send you some of their eggs if you want. I keep throwing them out of the nesting boxes, but it looks like I'm only mildly discouraging one of them so far.

I think Guiness would have to verify the hatch by sending inspectors to everybody's house/incubator, but it would sure be fun to put them to the inconvenience.

The Icelandics are moving out of the coop they are in now and down to a new coop in the barn. I am going to try free ranging them...gulp.

Thanks for the egg offer but I DO NOT NEED ANYMORE CHICKENS....I was yelling at myself, not you!

Geez! It's bad enough to be out in the rain with 26 mph winds at midnight putting tarps on the sides of the AZ room to try and stop the wind and sideways rain from hitting the poor chickens, but now LIGHTNING?!?! Give me a break! I'm done, hope they stay warm enough.

Looks like I finished just in time, it started coming down in buckets just now. We're up to 1.3 in. of rain so far.

added.. Ok, you poor folks in CA are laughing at us in the desert now, but, well, we're in the desert!

And, it's flat, and it doesn't drain, and it turns to slippery slop. And it's still lightnining. I guess the folks snowed in aren't too sympathetic either. hmmm, guess I've got nothing to complain about.

When it rains here we get flood advisories. Missouri (where I am anyway) is just a big rock sprinkled with a little soil (make that clay). The drainage is horrible, and we walk in puddles for days! I sympathize with ya, Bob!

Couldn't sleep.

I imagine that will surprise all of you. Mental note. 5-HTP at Wally World tomorrow.

Did a spot check on the bators.
Hovabator: 100.5 at egg level --- why do I even try with this bator?
Brinsea: 99.1 at egg level

Upped the brinsea to 99.8 the spot check said it was 99.5
Turned down the thermostat in the family room, 30 minutes later spot check for the 1588 was 99.5.

You'd think I'd be asleep now.

Still raining, but temp has gone up from 48 earlier to 50 now. It won't go below freezing. Those weathermen are all on drugs.

Dopler radar showed a wicked storm pass over Bob's area. Glad I live here.
