Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

Not sure who to congratulate , who to commiserate ; I've missed too many posts and getting so tired I can't remember what I'm reading now LOL .
My 7th pip was so weak its difficult to see . None of the pips are progressing , I did see movement in the one I will call a double wide pip about an hour ago . I keep thinking the temps have stabilized , but after a few minutes have to decrease them again . I'm going to log off and read a couple of verses , then see if I can get the bator steady enough to catch a nap . Catch you all later .

Well......two hours after checking last.....pip #2 & #3 are both out!

Only problem now is.......all 3 silkies look alike while wet.....so not sure who is what

2 are BBS
1 is Black/Lav Split

.............................QUESTION.............................

I like to keep up with my hatch rates for my own records....How do you all do that? Should I go by how many I put in at the beginning or how many I put into lockdown after candling on day 18?

Hatch rate for my own are great.......put 10 in & 9 hatched on the 28th, hatch before that put in 5 and 5 hatched.
My shipped eggs are what I would like to figure % on

ETA: Honestly, the other reason I would like to know is to tell if my shipped egg hatch rate is better than DH's

Congrats Mahonri! I had 12 pages to catch up on, actually surprised it wasn't a lot more.

Still nothing on my 4, but I know my temp has been a little low. I hope they start doing something soon and do it fast. We are leaving for 3 days today around 4.

Got up this morning to check my bator and catch up on posts. Bator; nothin' nada zip zilch pffffffffffffffffffft!!! Wondering what I did to kill my little chickies, as everything was perfect up until now. I do have the same white thermometer/hygrometer as Steve, but mine is just for inside (no wire attached). I just stuck it in there; didn't know it needed callibrating. Jeez; you'd expect digital to be callibrated and accurate when purchased. I'll hold out a couple more days for late bloomers, but I'm not holding out much hope. Pretty sad. As it was all going so well we weren't expecting th:hit:hitis.

Goodmorning & Happy New Year!
An hour to catch up .............
1 out yesterday morning, 1 out sometime overnight. Nothing else going on. *sigh*
Congrats to all tha hatches.

for the knee. Nothing too serious, just stiff and sore! Feels better after the hot shower. Now I have to force myself to go outside and feed the animals. Don't wanna go though cuz it is still

out there. The natives (AKA my horses) are all out of their stalls and looking at the house now so I guess I will get out there and get them some breakfast. I guess I shouldn't feel so bad for myself, I get to come back inside at least. Poor chickens haven't come out of the coop in days. Between the snow and the cold they are just hanging around inside. Can't say as I blame them. They are troopers though, I am still getting eggs.
