Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

I wouldn't mind hatching a few. I love them and no one around here has any.

I'd be happy to send you some eggs once it gets a bit warmer round these parts.

Oh honey I hope it gets better. I lost one of the ducklings today (not sure if you saw that).

Oh Debi I'm sorry. I am not holding out too much hope, but I am not giving up either. But this entire hatch along was WAY too much fun.

I had to take the duck eggs I had set under my broody and bring them inside. When it got super cold my broody gave them up. Now I am freaked out because I have never hatched ducks in the bator before.

I'm so sorry. Can you try sugar water instead of vitamin water? It's worth a shot... sugar is fast calories.

What I use is some Nutri Cal mixed with water. It is full of calories and fats that absorb fast. It works way better than sugar water. I've had chicks turn around really fast after using it on them.

You helped Chris finish!

Got superchemicalgal's chick picture. Any other new hatchers with pics of first chickens for me?

Don't worry. Hatching duck eggs is the same as chicken eggs. Just spritz the eggs twice per day with warm water to up the humidity and help with the shrink wrapping. When hatching time comes add a bowl of warm water to the bator to help the humity for hatching.

I will try anything. I don't have Nutri Cal, but I will try the sugar water tonight. It's so dang cute!
