Why would you tell people that?I always try and tell people to not get to cuddly with their ducklings. They rarely listen. Sorry this is happening, hopefully he will calm down after breeding season.

Because of threads like this. Hens that are heavily imprinted will do the loud locator quack non stop when they get moved outside. Its terrible because the owner is super bonded to the duck then they have to get rid of it because its to loud. Some people have no issues, others not so lucky. Why would you tell people that?
Because human imprinted birds are frequently the ones that become human aggressive. Why would you tell people that?
I thought they were referring to ducklings of the age after the imprinting window is up.Because human imprinted birds are frequently the ones that become human aggressive.
MINE IS NOT!! HE BARELY EVEN MATES MY FEMALE!!Sorry male ducks are a holes and will try to rape anything. Do they have a kiddie pool? That can encourage them to mate each other.

All animals are individuals and there are always exceptions. We are happy your drake is so sweet. He is a sweet heart, and even nicer than my 6 chickens, dog, cat, and female duck

Have you had luck with this? I tried it all last summer didn't work for me.When our males got aggressive with us, we did the dominance thing. Grab them. Stretch their head out and kneel "sit" on top of them. That's what ducks do to other ducks to show who is dominant. Try it at least a few times when you get near that duck - grab it and kneel over the duck and hold it's head down. It's putting the duck into the mating/subservient position - but not actually mating. It can help.
