Male duck trying to mate me😩

Basically any time it happens straight into lockup, no extra attention towards the duck just straight into the coop. Hopefully he will realize that the biting is not a tolerable behavior. Do you have any female ducks?

Ive been kicking him progressively harder and harder. Its like he is biologically programed to die trying. I really dont like kicking ducks :(
I very much understand not wanting to have a duck try to mate with you, but I think actual kicking could potentially cause damage and is likely to escalate the situation. Blocking with your feet while you grab a towel to throw over him so you can remove him is one thing, but kicking feels dangerous, and likely ineffective.

I'm not sure how to solve your situation. Perhaps time outs, spending less time with him, or leaving him with other female ducks only and no humans. It is a hard situation and I'm sorry you are in it.

My favorite male mallard is covering me with bite marks trying to mate. Im not really into it, Any ideas.
You're bigger than him. Don't tolerate this behavior.
I don’t really have any duck experience, but would giving him a little kick do anything?
And this is exactly the type of behavior that serves no worthwhile purpose. When we feel the need to kick an animal, it is time to get rid of it. This crosses that fine line between ignorance and abuse.

you’re telling me! None of limbs are safe atmšŸ˜šŸ˜‚ yesss! They swim together all the time but just goes mad whenever he sees me! He did imprint on me unfortunately when he hatched as he was the only one in his batch to make it to hatching so it was just me and him for 2/3 weeks! I’m thinking that’s maybe the problem?🄺
I always try and tell people to not get to cuddly with their ducklings. They rarely listen. Sorry this is happening, hopefully he will calm down after breeding season.

Agreed @sourland. No kicking of any animal is acceptable.
Plus, he is doing what his hormones tell him to do.
There are far to many other ideas to stop that behavior.

Then STOP kicking Ducks!
If you feel you must "kick" any animal in an attempt to modify its behavior, then either get rid of it, research the problem or ask for help to change the behavior.
If everytime someone kicked you for trying to mate or for doing something your hormones tell you to do, then you would be all bruised up with internal injuries and removed from that environment.
PLEASE STOP KICKING your animals. That is down right abusive.

First off how many females do you have? It might not be that he isn't interested in your hens, but the problem may be that you don't have enough for him. Some drake's require a large harem of hens to satisfy their needs while other drake's are perfectly happy with only 3-4 hens. If you have lots of females and he's acting this way then honestly I would find him a home where he has minimal human interaction (like someone with a big pond full of ducks). I have yet to meet someone who has successfully trained a rapey drake to well...not be abusive and rapey.
