Not really the same.....power off then back on while device stays plugged in would simulate a power outage.
But how is it different?
Unplugging and then plugging back in is 'normal use'...a power outage/restoration while device remains plugged is not normal use and the test we would want to ensure it will operate without reset.
But isn't it basically the same?

Scenario 1
Unplug device for 1 minute. plug back in

Scenario 2
One minute power outage - power comes back on

Don't both equal no power for the same amount of time? Isn't removing a fuse the same as un-plugging or flipping the switch if it's on a power strip? Sorry, I'm confused.

Yeah, it might well be...but if testing for the situation we dread, cold chicks, I'd feel more comfortable with flipping breaker on and off than just unplugging and plugging back in.

only possible difference I see is if the power went out the neutral would still be grounded .. where when you unplug it the neutral is unplugged too.... that said I don't see how it would make a difference unless it was digital , and even then I doubt it would make a difference

Hi all, So Im a total newbie getting chicks in the next month or so. Do I really have to read through 800+ pages of posts to learn how to do this? I started at the beginning and read about 30 pages but I was wondering if someone could just post a picture of the latest version of the MHP as Im sure it has gone through a few changes over the 800 pages

I dont want anything fancy just an easy effective way to raise my chicks up. Its really cold here so I was going to start at least in my garage. Can anyone elaborate on how to go about this as in should I start with it on a more medium setting instead of high because they are inside the garage? I know you should just watch and see how your chicks do and adjust from there but I need a ballpark place to start because I know I will be a bit of a nervous nelly because Ive never done this before. Thanks all!

Yes, yes you do...Nooo, just kidding!!

There are various versions of using a heating pad to warm chicks.....
...and everyone has their favorite....
.......one way to skim all the designs is to use the 'view all images' on the upper right of all thread pages (not sure if this is available on the mobile device app tho).

Merry mouse, yes, you really do have to read through 800+ pages in order to use MHP. But, on page 489, paragraph 3, subsection 4A, there is an exemption. That being that you, the thread participant must provide and post a photograph of your MHP in action, and your little peeps. If you notice in paragraph 4 of same page, there is an other exemption, which I have claimed, and that is that the thread participant is for all intents and purposes not able to complete the requirements of p. 489, paragraph 3, subsection 4A. My claim to fame: I am a techno idiot. But, I can say that I highly recommend MHP, and recommend Sunbeam XPress due to multiple heat settings and the pad being washable.

Well, where does that leave me? I've been following for 1 year but haven't read all 800+ pages! Neither have I posted a photo of my MHP in action. I'll get right in it! Lol
