I have a mama hen sitting on 10 eggs. She is alone in my coop with a run.
Question is when they hatch do I need to add a heat source for the chics??
I live in south MS temps ranging 40'd at night 65 in the day.

No, just a chick feeder and chick waterer. She will teach them to eat, drink, dust bath, and keep them warm. Broody mamas and their chicks are the neatest thing to experience!

You do not need to add a heat source for the chicks.

The hen will be the heat source: they will sleep underneath her at night, and during the day they will alternate between running around in the cold and warming up under the hen. As they get older, they spend less time warming up and more time doing other things.
