Map of potential chicken sitters

A lot of us would be very happy to have a chicken sitter for when we go on vacation, so I think it would be an incredible resource to have a list of people who might be willing to do this. I made a custom google map where each of us who would be willing to chicken sit can add a pin with our approximate location. For each pin, we can put in our user name on here so that people can PM us. So far I put myself on there and stuck in another placeholder pin just so the map isn't zoomed in so much. I'll delete that one later.

Great idea! I know that many people on the Indiana Thread have discussed the difficulty of finding capable people to care for their chickens and animals when they go out-of-town. I added my location-- the north side of Evansville, Indiana.

I certainly would want to establish an ongoing relationship way before even considering asking someone onto my property to care for my animals.

Absolutely! I definitely wouldn't want that and wouldn't want to go to someone else's chickens before establishing a positive ongoing relationship either.

We've never had to go out of town together, but it's always a remote possibility. I also think it would be nice to potentially have someone to trade experience with in person. Thank you again for bringing this up!

This is a great idea. We had some difficulty finding a sitter for Christmas but were able to find one in time.
