Morning Everyone! Thank you all for the kind words. I'm better today but I still feel like I am on hold. You guys and gals are the greatest! Never not a shoulder, or a smile, or a hug when they are needed.
How about some happy hatching news?? I have 2 Blue Copper chicks this morning with 5 more pips and one of those pips is going along at a pretty good clip.
jl~ Glad you DH got that chick out...sounds like it was very ready to be here. I hope that after a good days rest all is fine with it. I am sorry that you think the feet might be deformed. Pictures later when you have or find the time will definately help.
Sea~ Thank You!
Congratulations on your pretty puppy having puppies. I love it when puppies are born. I use to sit with my girl until she had her last pups. Tons of fun watching the kids come in and watch the puppies come along.
A long time ago, in a past life I used to raise and breed Akita's, despite their somewhat bad rap with some folks they truly were great dogs. I also had a Wolf hybrid that I saved from a man who was suppose to be running a wolf sanctuary, but it was not a sanctuary....one of my sisters and I were visiting there one day and witnessed this man kicking wolf puppies out of his way as we walked around. I picked up the puppy that I saw him kick and I told him he would never see that puppy again. He didn't see her again, I promise. Fact, later that day after a phone call to the authorities, my sister and I watched the humane society shut him down and take all animals. Casey was the pup I took home from there that day and it's been 10 years since she passed away, I miss her more than any animal I have ever had. She was my girl. She had 5 batches of pups and every one of them she had more than she had spigots for.
We did alot of supplemental feedings with her and the babies. Casey was funny, she was very human like, had 2 cats and a person (me) and all of us had to be with her. Her first batch of pups started on my bed.....that is where she thought it should happen anyway and Qui Chang and Meko her cats were right there with her, Meko was licking the first pup like no big deal when I walked in to find Casey, and friends on my bed.
Awww...the days of havin' puppies. If I need a puppy fix...I just go next door, my neighbor raises and breeds Black, Yellow and Chocolate Labs, I love when they ask us to take care of the dogs and puppies if they have to go out of town. If we are lucky when they go out of town they usually always go right after a couple litter of pups are born, I spend my time playing and loving the babies while DH is mixing food and feeding. It works out great. However, when the neighbors offer payment I always tell him one of the little chocolate babies will suffice, but no go....I get fresh vegetables instead. Don't get me wrong, veggies work, but they are not as cute as the puppies.
