Marans Thread - breed discussion & pictures are welcome!

AyeUp, sure, you can borrow him! Be glad to meet up like Geebs says, for lunch and I can bring him along! Right now he is over in the small barn with banty hens are company along with the dark blue birchen roo so he would be happy, HAPPY, happy boy to have girls of his own for a bit! Yup, I'd be interested in the whole deal

I need to work on getting one of the pups to Hungary so not sure exactly when I'd be free to do lunch, hopefully I can get the pup there next week. Either fly him over and turn around flight back or put him on cargo plane (which I hate to do to a 10 week old baby). But will know by end of Tuesday next week.

Hey all I'm really excited about my Blue Copper Marans I hatched last week . The coloring on 2 of the chicks really got me stumped , just wondering if they are some what normal color patterns or if these are rejects or bad Quality blood lines Im . Not sure on the blood lines. Check the pictures out and tell me what ya think . Thanks Guys

any feedback would be awesome .

I just got every one off to bed. . . .Rough and BUSY day.

We picked blackberries and have enough to make some pints of jam tomorrow.
I am thrilled that the chickens haven't found my blackberries patches. . . .

I am picking up another incubator tomorrow - - used this time

Price is right!

I am so tired tonight and have so many things I want to get done this weekend. .. .
I've got chicken and garden things that need to get done - - - BUT OMG this heat is crazy!

I got a few hours of work done this morning , but by 10 it was over for me. . . . The heat is suffocating.
We had a tree fall a few weeks ago during a freak storn. We got it hauled to the burn pile this morning, but can't do anything else with it.
We are so dry around here that we are under a burn ban. I betcha we have had less than 6 inches of rain this entire year so far.

I don't remember who I am competing with on the chicken coop building, but I may have to throw in the towel since our heat is here to stay!

I am filling up the chickens waterers twice a day right now. . .. They aren't empty, but I know they slack off drinking when the water gets too hot. So, I run fresh cool water mid day for them.

Good night every one! Enjoy your Sunday
