Couldn't help yourself ? ? ? ?

I think I would enjoy being a fly on your wall as you read our posts and mumble about the incorrect usage of grammer!

Dd ( dear daughter) loves to correct my posts. She can barely restrain herself. Thank GOD she isn't allowed access to the infamous RED CORRECTION PEN!

Hey Spitman,

I am not ignoring you .. . . I have never seen patterns like these from my chicks, but that does not mean it is not normal. Pink has hatched a lot more blues than a lot of us. . . . so she can give you some feed back on the dark blue wing coloring.

I have hatched a black copper marans with a huge brown spot on its head and it went away in time.

If the thread gets busy, your pics might get missed. You might have to repost them in a day or so

Ok !! thanks math for answering , I follow this thread daily but being a total newbie I never really have much to add . LOL so I get excited to post something and get responses , But the pictures are my fav. part, love to see all of your chickens , I never thought when I got my first batch of chicks from farm and home last year that I would fall so deep for the little buggers. But I am totally sold out

Hi Spitman!
Congrats on your little ones!

Yes they are coloring out normal for blues......the coppery mark on the second chicks head happens sometimes, though I have never seen a mark be that big. I don't know what causes it, but it has been my experience that these chicks will normally not get enough copper or just have it right there where it is. The chick in the first photo is going to be mossy, see the coloration on the wing that is starting to get a brownish tinge, that is the mossy I am talking about. It may cover up and disappear by maturity or it may just increase. I also see the copperish tinge around the face and eyes..again it has been my experience that these chicks will grow up to not have enough copper and will be mossy......HOWEVER, I have noticed that they tend to lay the darker eggs.

BTW.....I'm going to toss out their gender guesses for ya. Do me a favor and update in about 3 weeks to see if my guesses are correct.

I know and it's making me crazy! I am trying to find her phone number in my papers so that I can try to give a jingle if I can.

I hope you find it and can get ahold of her! Let us know if you do. They just declared the tornado that hit Joplin the deadliest tornado on record, surpassing the one in Flint, MI in the 50's. There's also been something like 1,500 tornadoes in the states already this year. That's insane! I hope they come to an end soon.

I am searching for it as we speak. I will let you know if I get through.
