If you got a very long pointy egg that had 2 tones of color to it...then it was a Charmin egg and very possible that she could have come from Charmin. I tried not to send out very many Charmin eggs because I don't like the shape of them.

As for the BCM gal do you have a photo?

Aww I'm sorry things are rough right now with your birdies. Are you going to work with your own stock or do you think you will source some other stock to go with them? I suppose if you weren't 100% sure what was behind added stock you'd be running some risks as well eh?

Copperheads(moccasins) are not afraid of people and will come after you once they see you , so be very careful with them (do away with everyone you see) allthough not as poisonous as a Rattlesnake(yet with out treatment their bite can kill you) . The Rattlesnake is afraid of humans and will try to get away but they will stand their ground when danger strikes them and will Do what they have to and then retreat .
The copperhead will go to great lenths to get to you .................

I don't don't like snakes Period !!!!!!

Hi Ya'all. I haven't abandoned ya. I've just been rather busy with my project. Here it is. I built this from all salvaged materials. The floor of the top deck is a salvaged kitchen countertop. The only things I purchased were hinges, latches and paint. I have less than $40 into the project, $19 of which is the paint.

Second pic-angle shows the inside a little better.

This pic shows one door open, and one of the removable dividers partially pulled out. All 8 pens have removable dividers between them.

I did this myself, except DH helped me hold things together when I did the frames for the doors. I can't make 45 degree angles and have things come out square so I used butt end joints, glued, screwed them together and overlapped the wire and finish board. It's a challenge working with salvaged wood. It is kind of brittle, warped, different dimensions, and not to mention the splinters. First thing I had to do was remove all the nails from any piece I wanted to use. I still have some touch up painting to do, but overall I am happy with how it turned out. I plan to use this for some of my bantams.

Hey Gilavina-When is that show in Lincoln you mentioned a while back? I'm definitely going to Sedalia, but Lincoln is a lot closer, and if it's at a time I can get off work, I just might try to make it, or maybe even show some if it works out.

hey Ivy! That is a lovely piece of work you have there! I need to build something like that for conditioning pens at some point. How long did it take you? I have tons of salvaged materials as well, and need to build my other pen project first, but maybe with what is left over I could try something along those lines

The show in lincoln is Nov 5th and 6th. You can bring birds in the night of the 4th if you want, but otherside they just have to be in the coops by 8:30 AM on Saturday morning. Entry forms with payment are due on the 20th of this month. If you think you'd like to show, I got sent an extra catalog I could post to you?

I'd love it if you could make it up here! They are having the Wyandotte Western Nationals and I hear they are expecting a big show! They don't allow cooping out until Sunday morning after the awards, so if you show either you'll have to drive home and back or find a hotel to stay in. Just thought I'd put a bug in your ear since the hotels are probably filling up fast...especially if its a home game that weekend....which I think it might be if I remember right.

Let me know if you want that catalog and I'll get it out to you asap!

Mornin' Debbi! I was kind of thinking the same thing!

Find any more snakes yesterday? I sure hope not, but that Sulphur tip sounded like an interesting one to try.

I don't have any more chickers yet, but I think the eggs were staggered a bit and the mommas are NOT giving up. I need to candle the eggs and see how they are coming along and then I think.... (yes...my self control is weakening) the ones aren't any good I'll pop those nice dark eggies under them and see how they hatch out! I got some more yesterday...I feel like I'm getting spoiled!
