I know...I really wanted to go...and I had forgotten the Hutchinson show was this weekend too. Yarg! Hopefully next year things will indeed be better.
I love how you can make all the plans you want but they never seem to go quite as planned. My neighbor decides of all the days to harvest this side of his field...he always starts with the other side...anyways, its got my birds all in an uproar and am waiting til they calm down some to do some sorting and moving. I was sittin on the back porch however playing with the kitties waitin for him to move his equipment further away before letting birds out for the morning and doin chores and looked down into the barn and saw something pretty funny. I have a real set of stairs that go up to the haymount...they are set on counter weights so the entire stair case will retract and sit flush against ceiling, between the joists to the haymount....well I've been keeping them down so the kitties can go up and hone their mousing skills. I just saw one of my splash girls march up there like she owned it. I'm gonna have to go hunting for a nest to see if she's hiding some up there. Silly turd!
