Hope this works. Having a hard time getting the pics from "uploads" to the forum.

The first one and the last one are definately roos! The second pic is a pullet; the third pic is up in the air for me. I had one pullet that showed as a roo as far as comb/wattles/ and attitude...until she laid an egg! Others will come forward with their opinions!

Only the second one is a pullet. If you look at the 3rd one you can see a little copper coming in toward the saddle area.

The first little cutie is a pullet and the other 2 pictured are both cockerels, sorry. Oh and you pullet does not have a lot of copper coming in she is what is referred to as mossy, the mossy may grow out and it may not, but bet she lays a very nice egg when she is older.

Sounds like you had one heck of a day! Congradulations!
Did you buy any lottery tickets?

Hi Mel! I was wondering if she purchased a lottery ticket too! Yesterday would have been the day for her to do it!

Hey BTW...we never did get together to go fishing.

Good eye Pink! Or, maybe it's just my bad eyes??

I'll have to take some pics of my Blue and Splash chicks today. Out of 5 chicks, looks like FOUR ROOS!

Ms PinkChick I have a question and since I have one of your boys thought you were the one to ask. I have your blue copper boy, next to my wheaten ameraucana and the coloring is similar to me, not the same as my BCM and what should I look for in coloring in da blues? Pictures PLEASE to show me what to look for and what I don't want. I don't see anything obvious with him that I would not breed him

Just want some education on da blues please. I will try to get pics if you want today.

Not Pink, but here is what I like. Nice blue coloring with breast lacing, an even, medium blue color. Copper hackles and saddle, deep red wing bow. Nicely feathered shanks/toes. No white feathers or fluff. Pretty much the same you would look for in a BCM, only in blue. So many shades of blue too! I also have a very dark blue boy, with very dark copper/mahogany hackles/saddle coloring. I happen to like this color, but don't think it would do well in a show. JMO

Most of the pics I see of blues have lighter hackles like the wheatens is that ok? He is the only mature blue copper I have so he will give me some blue pullets to work with. I have a BCM roo that has very nice dark color like what you are talking about. Not as nice as Vicki's but dark like hers. Is that coloring even possible with the blues? I would love to breed my dark BCM roo to some nice blue girls to get some better color on the blues.

For giggles I kept this guy out of curiousity. He is going on 6 mos old. His hackles at the bottom are coming in whiteish like Birchen and so are his wing bow and saddles.
He is out of Gnarles and the GFF hens.

*edited to add* this young man also has no tail nails on his very short outer toe, they disappeared around 5 weeks of age, he also has the heaviest shank feathering on a male that I have produced.
