Well, when the twister hits....

Then Randy can come and build me my dream log cabin too!

I sure hope that first part never happens!!!

I emailed Sigrid in the Netherlands about availaibilty of the new softcover " The Genetics of Chicken Colours-The Basics". Below is her response which just came thru. I agree with James about this book. Not only is the front half easy to understand, the 2nd half in the back is chock full of large color photos of all the colors with thier genetic "recipes". This book is perfect for anyone, especially the beginner or someone wanting to work on a color project. Sigrid quotes postage for 2 copies so if two people wanted to go together, postage could be saved.
Best Regards,
Karen
As of 8-28-2011 according to XE currency convertor:
75.00 EUR = 108.954 USD
16.15 EUR = 23.4588 USD
2.00 EUR = 2.90513 USD
168.15 EUR = 244.239 USD
So basically, if ordering 2 at a time, the price difference between the 1st edition hardcover
and the 2nd printing softcover to your doorstep for one copy has risen about $14.00 USD. Not bad.
Best Regards,
Karen
=============================
Hi Karen,
The softcovers are printed in January since hard cover is too expensive
after the first run was sold out after 2 years. Printing prices raised a
lot therefore there are printed small runs of 50 books a time digitally.
The book is 75 euros, mail costs to the US of two copies 16,15 euro and
the protecting special carton wrap is 2 euros.
This is in total 168,15 euro.

I will google on Euskal Oiloa chickens, never heard of that breed :))

Have a nice day!

haha I bet that would be a hilarious road trip!

Oh Lawdy! It would be great!! I can tell we would have a lot of fun on a road trip!! Despite the age difference, you and I are kindred souls! Years ago, a van and some sleeping bags would've done me just fine. Now a days, it's more like a motorhome with disabled features! And the dogs...can't forget the dogs!

Things were soooo much more fluid when I was younger! Then I'd have to find a chicken-sitter too. Much easier to do when the dogs go with me! So much baggage these days, and it doesn't even involve kids!

haha too funny! I used to go on road trips all the time and have done trips to several countries and lived overseas for a while living out of a bag and loved every minute of it!
Now it is much harder to just pick up and go tho with all the animals still needing to be taken care of...and I do admit it...I miss Nevada, even when I go to work for a shift at work. She is my favorite dog ever!

Plus, could you imagine the hilarity once we actually got to Kims?

Well, that's awesome. But for me, the price would have to drop drastically to buy the book. With the rising prices on feed around here, and the gas prices to go get it, there is no room for luxuries. For what I do, the BYC info will have to do for now... Good luck with the book, I'm sure others will jump on it! Thanks for the info!

Oh, yes, I could!! Especially if Mel dropped by!
gig.gif
By the way, where is Mel these days Kim??

less than two days left now til things should start happening!! Come on babies!!
fl.gif

Those peepers should be starting tonight! Unless that is, that the sound you heard was nose whistles???
gig.gif
I always have to check myself three times, (ie blow my nose!), before I acknowledge an actual peep!

Good luck lady!!

haha...way too funny! I think two eggs have moved position from where I put them, but besides that nothing else. I'm trying not to be impatient about it, but its hard! They could be slowed because of the outage. One thing I do know, I love the clear door, but do not like that I look in there about 6,000 times a day and then get annoyed nothing magnificent is happening yet
