Thanks Pink! Thinking I'll throw one of my Marans cockerels in with the Ameraucanas to start with. Which one will make the prettiest babies, Black Copper or Blue Copper? I have splash and blue pullets.

I know there were several people playing around with ideas for FlexWatt in the incubator and/or brooder.

I saw Slick's - anyone else have a report??

I'm dying to convert my brooders to FlexWatt....


As for Wheaten Americaunas - I got caught, too!
I have on Splash Wheaten girl and just love her....ended up getting EIGHTEEN chicks and 18 eggs last Saturday....

Now I need more pens.....sigh....but they are Super cute with their little cheecks and I LOVE my olive eggers from my EE girl and BCM boy!! All shades of blue (of course!) from baby blue to navy blue!

Looking forward to Blue eggs in the autumn and more olive eggs in the spring!!

I have it in my incubator and my hatcher and I have a little brooder one too.... I love it. I do have to use a light to boost the heat. I am thinking in the summer I may not need any extra light heat in the incubator or hatcher, but I did need it in the cooler weather.

Thanks! The ref/freezer was one that I used when I was in the catering biz (just retired from that). It blew both compressors and I just kinda hung on to it thinking I might fix it one day. Guess I did, sorta.

I like the splash so I would use the blue. Either way you will get blues and blacks.
