I give!!!!!!!! It's either going to be one thing or another with this breed and I guess I opened my big mouth and inserted foot in the past when I have asked the powers that be to give me anything except the carnation comb. The big guy was listening...cause I got it.

yeah....I think its a much longer process than what any of us probably thought that it would be when we got into them.

I think he is just under a year or just over but just over doesn't sound right...will have to look it up for clarity. I know it could still change so I am going to pull it out and see what color it grows back. If it comes back..............*sighhhhh*....... whatever.

I'll cross that bridge when I get to it and figure out my next step then. Atleast I have a few chicks growing out and I can test that Splash boy. We'll see.

I have one FBCM hen. For the last 2 days, she has laid straight cream-colored eggs. Will her eggs get dark again?


3 weeks ago I hatched 2 blue and 3 splash marans. Last Friday, I hatched 1 black and 1 splash. Here are a couple of the chicks. My son takes most of my pics. I'll have to ask him to get some new ones, so I can find out how many roos/hens I have.

Thanks! Believe me I know how lucky I am...chicken pens are so simple. My only real predator are neighbor dogs. I think Hawaii must be like perfect chicken weather. Perfect jungle fowl weather. lol. If you can just get them here! lol

This is a different island than me but what do you guys think about this ad? I mean the last thing I need is ANOTHER cockerel...especially for 100 bucks but I wonder how these birds stack up?
