Hi Debbie! I am here more days than not, just don't post often.

Last couple of weeks have been crazy. Most of my family came to visit for a week. While that was wonderful in many ways I am glad to have my house back!

Oh boy! Nice to see family, but I know what you mean about getting your house back!

Pink, I will get pics of your pullet too. She is in that group that is going to get moved into the new BIG Marans Pen. If I have enough pullets I may have to have 2 BIG Pens.

Becky.... Guineas from the flea market are doing great, did you see where one of the keets I hatched ran out the door? Never to be seen again?

Do you want me to bring you any of the white keets when we come up for the 4th? and PM me if you want me to bring anything to eat or drink.

haha heck no! Been up since 5:30 and gettin ready to leave for work in a few minutes. It is amazing to see the numbers dwindling. I still have my youngest batch of chicks to sort completely and all of my dad's birds, but otherwise I've gone through almost everything else. Just have those 10 other chicks from that batch I started postin pics of yesterday.

I figured that it was the smarter route to cull everything down in the adults and make the first two passes through the chicks I hatched this year before I start building. I've made some adjustments to my plans, and some of it will just be working as I go, but I'm getting there. Haven't had a building day in a couple weeks I think with everything else going on. And the realization that I now have 10 baby kitties that will soon be running around and terrorizing the land and its inhabitants makes me want to get moving as fast as I can. Luckily I have a couple of people that for sure wanted kitties, so I'm hopeful they will go easily!

I've been outside since 5, running around, trying to be sure everyone is okay in this heat....we struggled with that 85 degree day with 90% humidity.
Today is slated to be 91 with 102 heat index - I'm really worried, even though I added some insulation and 2 more fans in that house.

Glad to hear your babes are doing well, I had to go out of town that Sunday,Monday and my DH totally forgot them!!! Needless to say none made it. Sorry to hear you never found your escape artist. You can bring me any and all Keets you don't want!! I will shoot you a PM shortly about the 4th (7th)

sounds like you got the extreme heat we had on monday I think. How are the birds faring so far lady?

I don't think its really sunk in exactly how many kitties we have....but I'm sure it will when they are more active. Luckily they are super cute, so they should be easy to give away. There's a lady not too far from me that had her barn burn down last year and they lost every animal in it because it happened when they weren't home, so they are building a new barn and already asked for several kitties for barn cats....so that should definitely help! haha
