Hi Everybody! Hope you are all doing great!

Geesh! This no computer thing STINKS!!!!!!!! Borrowing DHubby's for a second to say hey to ya'll. Should have my computer back by this weekend. DH's puter won't let me get into my PM's....wonder why?

Hey Kim, wondered where you've been! Are you guys getting hot weather out there now? I thought I heard someone say it was 90 something out your way? Thankfully, the Big Man sent us some extremely nice weather here lately!

Hi Debbi! Glad to hear that you are getting a nice break in the weather. Yeah, it's been slowly getting a little warmer here. My daughter got married last weekend and of course it had to be the hottest day of the year so far and she had her wedding in the middle of a hay field with no shade and it was 95* that day. Tomorrow is suppose to be a scorcher for our area and could reach 100*. Other than that it has been very mild. We normally only get about 2 weeks where it is very warm, but nothing even comparable to what all of you out East have been dealing with.



I have been scaling down chickens again. Current count is 17 chooks and 6 geese. As of last night I now only have Marans and a few token random layers. Maybe someday I will get into the Barnevelders again but for now and for simplicity sake.......it's only Marans.

The chickies are doing great. Growing like crazy! I am guessing one blue roo, one blue pullet and one black pullet. You can all take a stab at guessing too

The blue roo is much heavier (for a chick he is hefty!!!!!!) and the black one is a diva. Full of attitude! If she is a pullet, her name will be Diva!

The smallest blue pullet is fairly quiet and reserved... very sweet. Love them all....

If you can wait, I will try to make a run to Nebraska and BORROW some birds.

No need to rush... You are at least a 10 hour drive for me and I don't think I can squeeze another Nashville trip into this year's calendar. Also, my mom and dad loved the trip so much they would be insulted if we didn't work with them on another trip and Pete's mom and the kids have asked to go, when we go back... I like to think the world revolves around me, but it really is the family....

I will happily wait until you get all that solid colour squared away... (my neighbour on the other hand.... she might not be so patient.. but I won't tell her if you won't)

Well, it looks like Im probably losing my job. My Wife and I are very upset and we are stressed to the max. Working on my resume as we speak. Just taking a break to come up for air. Im so sad right now and feel more for my Wife than anything. Niether of us need the stress but she can defenatly do without it. My brain is fried trying to get the right courses of action. Unless God throws me really good miracle I doubt I will be able to find as good of a job as I had. Good in the sence of pay and benefits, not the enjoyment. Im hoping and praying that this works out and we get through this.

Thank ya ma'am! I'm hoping to get to where all my girls are as beefy and typey as her, no matter whether they are blue or black copper or blue or black birchens. I'm getting there. Still have lots I want to work on and am workin with what I've got as I have time and trying to be patient for hatching season next spring.

You've really thinned down to some amazing numbers! I need to work really hard on the same. I'm still growing out some birds to see, and some will be winner, winner, chicken dinners soon, but will have to sell some more girls as layers once they get replaced with some of the birds from this years hatches. Overall, I've already sold well over 150 birds this year, but have probably another 50 to 70 to go, easily.

Hi Everyone! I had actually ordered CL girls and one boy to come in last week from GFF. GFF forgot the male and sent 3 CL males today. LOOK

at what they put in as packing peanuts! Birchen Marans, I'm feeling so lucky!
