Hi Everyone! I had actually ordered CL girls and one boy to come in last week from GFF. GFF forgot the male and sent 3 CL males today. LOOK

at what they put in as packing peanuts! Birchen Marans, I'm feeling so lucky!

you'll have to keep us updated on how they grow out!

Well, it looks like Im probably losing my job. My Wife and I are very upset and we are stressed to the max. Working on my resume as we speak. Just taking a break to come up for air. Im so sad right now and feel more for my Wife than anything. Niether of us need the stress but she can defenatly do without it. My brain is fried trying to get the right courses of action. Unless God throws me really good miracle I doubt I will be able to find as good of a job as I had. Good in the sence of pay and benefits, not the enjoyment. Im hoping and praying that this works out and we get through this.

Well, I know no matter what anyone says- it is still scary as can be. But I have been through a similar situation. I was 7.5 months pregnant and let go from my comfy job, which was with a company that I was at for 8 years. I was horrified. How will we pay bills? How can we do it with a baby??? Some way some how it all worked out and 4 years later I am still a stay at home mom, we bought a house and had another baby. Not really sure how we managed it- but wants not needs is the only way to go. It'll come together for you.... you just have to be patient.

Ok, I have a hatch update... I had 4 shipped Cuckoo Marans Eggs make it to lock down 3 have hatched and 1 has movement still

I have a question, how do you toe punch anything special? I can't find a video or pics of how to do it. Don I remembered your comment on the Leather punch so I have that ready to go. Can I just punch anywhere in the web? Should I candle their feed to avoid veins? I am not going to make a habit out of toe punching, but in this case I kinda need to make sure they don't get mixed up with my cuckoos.

there's nothing to it lady. Just punch the webbing and you are good. At this young of an age you don't have to worry too much about veins or anything like that. Its a lot like piercing ears. Just try to get it nice and centered in the webbing

Tough thing to go through, I know all too well. Keep the faith! The only way to get something better, is to let go of what you have! Maybe you'll even get a job that you enjoy.

Wow Kim, you sure cut back on the chickens!! Sad to see them go I'm sure, but just think of all the money in feed you'll save this winter.

Looks like we are going to get a day of storms here today. Hope it mostly just rain, I can do without the ugly stuff! Going to sell a Silkie pullet tomorrow, may take a roo along for the ride, just in case they love him too.

One little chick hatched so far with the broodies, and was out running around with the whole pen of older brothers and sisters, along with the 2 moms and daddy! Gees, these Silkies breed like rabbits! My Marans flock is down to 6 hens, 3 roos, and the 3 9 week old babies. They seem to be adjusting well to outdoor life with the big chooks, and man are they growing! Kiwi is finally getting a tail. Gabby the blue chick, thinks she wants to be a Silkie. When I let them out yesterday morning, I looked out the window, and there she was, perched on the top of a T post, eyeballing the Silkie pen!

How she got up there is beyond me, and then Kiwi had to do it too. She was sitting on the welded wire, and I watched her climb up the fence! She flapped and literally walked up the welded wire. I guess Mr. Boss in the Silkie pen made it abundantly clear to them that he did not want them in their with his babies, so they both flew back to their side of the fence, and went about their day. Crazy chickens!

mornin' Debbi

looks as tho the rain passed right by us yet again. This is getting beyond old now, but at least the high for the day is supposed to be 77*. I'm thinking today might be a good processing day when I get home. Probably won't get many done, but there's some feisty cockerels that I'm getting tired of keeping separate.

Praying for you.... I don't know what I would do, but HE doesn't give you anything you can't handle.
Suggestion: Talk to your Bank right away, sometimes there are programs or options for skipping payments.
Review your state web sites for programs. Call your social assistance office.

Remember that often times these things happen for a reason and are opportunities.
(doesn't feel that way now... but looking back...)

Mornin' Vicki. Sure hope you get some rain soon! We've had just enough here lately to bring back some of the grass. Even my tomato plants are re-growing their leaves!
