Hi!
This chick is not a splash. Do you happen to know the color of the parent birds?

I dont know what the parent birds are. I believe the eggs came from either Charm1704 or it might have been her other egg source which is a small farm in ohio I believe they are a BYC member also I think chicks4myfamily. She said she ordered FBCM eggs and they threw in a few splash eggs also.

Question about the round eggs.........anyone ever noticed slight cracking around the equatorial band on the rounder eggs vs the more regular shaped eggs? What causes this?

Hi everyone! I have 2 one-year-old hens that are developing white feathers (like pin feathers?) on their faces. Is this normal? Here is a picture showing the one with the least of these. Thanks! I should mention that they don't have white feathers anywhere else and haven't had this on their faces until the last month or so.

Well one of the chicks I got that was supposed to be Splash is indeed Blue. So maybe.

I have seen that on other breeds eggs when they lay a larger than normal egg. I don't try to hatch them, you can see it pretty well.

I have one girl that lays a rounder egg. VERY hard to figure out what end is up

Candle like Barngoddess suggested and you can see the air cell. I hatch them out with no issues but they like you said they are larger than normal. I love the fact that they are jumbo just never could figure out why they appear cracked.

One more question!

If a BC Marans has tiny feathers between one of the middle toes is that a DQ or a fault? The SOP seems to say it's a DQ, but I'm finding posts on here that say it is a fault.
