that much copper would only give you very mossy and over colored pullets and roos. that is too extreme for what Don was talking about.

that is true, it's alot of copper... I'm not very good at doing things in moderation !!! but thanks for the guidance, i am going to look for some
with less copper than that then!! I have two of Blue's chicks (boys) and one has copper ears i was reading on the marans of america club page
about the balance of copper and comments made there suggest that if you mistakenly have the E allele it can cover up the copper,

I got my first egg from my Blue today. Don't mind the Dos Equis, sorry didn't mean to get that in the pic lol. I hope they get darker lol.

This is the shape want by Marans people. The Spherical egg will usually be darker than oblong egg since it takes it longer to go through the spray booth. Very nice.

If you are looking for darker color, try the Dos Equis Amber.
