Debbi~ They can still change quite a bit so don't throw in the towel on them yet! I do see the copper coming in on Beaut, she needs more time, you may end up being surprised. Don't let the non feathered shanks hold you back, they are by far, IMO, one of the easiest traits to work on when it comes to all things considered with Marans.

Bailey: Pretty birds!! I like that photo with the little roo looking out the hole in the brooder box lol!

I have had some marans that run around in the yard alot and break off or rub off thier foot/shank feathers somehow. They should grow back in though.

I didn't even notice that until you said something flgarden, TOO CUTE!!!!!!

I don't know if I can take all these pretty Wheaten photo's anymore.....they sure are beautiful birds!

*chanting to self* "no room for Wheaties.....no room for Wheaties.....no room for Wheaties!"

If I add one more variety or breed of bird....my husband just may have me committed.

Hopefully very soon, I will be getting some Delaware eggs from Kathy, that will make 3 new addictions acquired this year....at some point I have to control myself, but that photo of Illia's Blue Wheaten almost has me wanting to cross the proverbial "line".

I forgot to mention that I am also going to get some Olive Egger eggs from Wynette....but since I already have OE's...they don't count as a new addition.

I'm finding self control is almost completely out the window when it comes to chickens.
