I think I gotcha! Your talking about the difference in solid BBS and Copper BBS, right?
1 blue gene dilutes black to blue, 2 blue genes dilutes blue and all the way to what appears to be blueish tinted white. Blue being a leaky gene allows some darker blue and lighter blue feathers to pop up all over the body of the splash randomly taking on no pattern.
Splash Copper female birds will have flecks of copper throughout their bodies taking on no pattern and the males can take on a pattern just like that of the Black Copper and Blue Copper in the hackle, back, wing bow. The saddles will normally not be solid copper but flecked with copper and the rest of the body can have random flecks of copper anywhere.
Your splash baby should have the copper gene if it came from coppered parents but it may or may not show. Not all copper splash birds show copper.
