I swear a couple a years ago I had more Splash birds than I knew what to do with.....I think all but one of them ended going to the freezer. What a waste.....wish it were easier to ship birds.

good job! When do you get your eggies? I'm loving that there are so many that are getting into the birchens! I'm loving that there will be more people to talk to and work on projects with together!!

My eggs will ship out Monday the 24th! You may be sorry I will be asking a ton of ?'s I have been drooling over your birds for a while but like the black better than the blues in the Birchen. BJ Poultry is who had the eggs up that Pink was bidding on. I went to their website to order (did not want to bid against Pink) I had contacted them here while back very nice folks very willing to help.
Donna no I was not able to get the eggs out of Ga. while we were emailing she seemed open to the $50.00 range but when I called to sched. a pick up she had decided she needed to get $120.00 for the doz.

REALLY they are eggs #1 and at the end of the day we are talking about chickens!

That's a good question Debbi...........I am such a hatchaholic. There is a breeder up in Oregon that has a partner. She hatches & broods all the chicks & er partner takes them to her ranch & grows them out & the share. I need that kind of deal.....LOL

bring on the questions! I'm thrilled! I'm such a nerd, but its making me soooooo happy to see them getting the attention I think they deserve. I can see here in the next couple of years that there will be so much progress on them!!

I bought Silkies for just that reason too then broke down & bought the big Brinsea so no longer needed the broodies, but alas,...........too last I already loved them so now I am into multi colors & buying more just for the love of it....LOL Shame on me......LOL

Dont get me wrong some rare breeds may be well worth it. I just cant justify it for me. I think my birds are priceless to me but try to keep my prices down to get more people into these great birds!

Some prices are just ridiculous for eggs. Rare chicks or grown birds, may be a tad more justifiable. I've found quite a few breeds or varieties that I would love to have, but until the prices drop, and they will, I'll have to pass on them! I understand it costs quite a bit to import the rare birds, but some of these breeders act like they want to pay off their overhead in the first few clutches! JMO

Karen ~ Yes, the Silkie clan here has become very dear to me! My White cockerel was crowing his fool head off this morning, keeping right up with the big boy Marans!

You could just see how proud he was of himself. Every time he crowed, he would finish it with a hop and a great flap of his wings! They are so comical!!
