For Sure!
I used to have a client that I visited every 2 weeks for a supervisory visit and to update his careplan......I knew the moment I walked in the door that I had to go to the top of the TV and get a jelly belly (out of the pink depression glass rooster that I just LOVED) for Joey the Shi Zhu. (sp?) Bless his (my client) soul...he used to call me at work every week and give me the low down of the Seattle Mariners and what they were up too and the score of a game if they were playing (what's funny is I don't follow sports) and he always had Joey talk to me. Joey could howl up a good conversation. I will never forget that man or his dear Joey, but for the life of me I can't remember the clients name, but good ol' Dex (Dex is what they used to call me at the office because I can remember phone numbers and numbers) can remember what his phone number used to be.

And here is a link to a FREE SOP from the 1920 for those that are not interested in buy a $60. From what I understand the basics are still the same. There have been more breeds added and you would have to find the SOP for those birds ie Marans but this might help.

mornin everyone

I know people have mentioned doing new years hatches...just wondering again who might be? I think I'm gonna have to go ahead and do it. I can't help it. I even have made a space for my sportsman to move into my art studio space where I am alot so I can watch. Just wondering when everyone will be setting eggs? I just dont know if I will have any eggs by that time or not from the ones I'm wanting to test.

not exactly new years day hatch but, I have 28 in there I set last Monday and will set more on Monday (19 so far) so is that close enough? I have some new birds coming next week and will be setting every egg they lay while they are here ( keeping some for someone else till these eggs hatch) I really didn't want babies right now, but can't help it under the circumstances

man...I wish I could be working on breeding pens today. Instead I am going to be moving birds because it snowed yesterday. Some of my younger birds do not look to happy right now with the white stuff. I don't know how far I'll get, but don't really have a choice.

what all are ya hatchin out?

Marans so far.... it is just a test, big test but a test. I candled a couple yesterday and didn't see anything... but it is early or may not be fertile IDK. They looked fertile in the skillet

The new birds will be Lav AM and Wheaten AM the lavs are laying so I will be hatching anything that I can from them. Mostly splits I think, 4 Black Am, 1 Split and 1 Lav with 2 Lav Roos. May sell the lav splits and just keep the lavs. I have 2 lav splits growing up (from the birds I am getting) and 3 lavs. So far no signs of a roo in the bunch go figure (10-13 weeks)

We're getting some needed rain right now. A little over 2" since it started last night and they are promising another day of it. Filled up the self-feeders yesterday and they have plenty of water, so they'll get little attention from me today. I'll even try to con the wife into gathering eggs this afternoon.

Also, hoping the Cowboys can get lucky and win another game this afternoon, so it'll be a pretty lazy day for me.

As far as the DQ/faults list this is something I hope would not fall by the wayside, as I think it would be a valuable tool. I'm willing to do my part (whatever that is), so I say we get the list going and we can fine tune it after it's completed. I don't own a SOP but would be willing to compile whatever is thrown out there, but I don't want to step on any toes. I guess we can cuss and discuss it.
