I hear ya on skittish birds, I have a few here that way too still. I have some birds I will hold over for mating this year that I think will have characteristics I can use in my breeding program, but haven't had as much time with them with everything going on this year, so its realllly hard to get them to hold still like my other birds will.
Am hoping for a really good hatching season to test out some of my birchens.

Moved all my Marans pullet to one pen so I can start evaluations on who makes the cuts.  I think it is going to be hard to pick.  There are some really nice pullets in there.  I think I have about 15 or so to pick from. Those are the ones that made it to POL   Might sell some of last years hens.

Hope that you post photos of them as you go through them. You know we would love to see them.

I also separated some birds today for some single matings....isn't it fun going through pens and planning the next step? Its one of my favorite times.

I am sure you will have great outcomes! I don't think you have anything to worry about.

Barb, I feel safe as long as I do not have to ride over the Ambassador in the same car. Walt and myself are from the same school of thought. Most times I talk too much but will never comment unless I know what I am talking about. Just keep in mind when we talk I have had the very best Mentors there are, just repaying the help I have received.
