MARCH 2021 HATCH-A-LONG 🌷🌸🌼

For the life of me I cannot see through these Cream Legbar eggs! They are just really dark - and I was using my husband’s really bright led flashlight. Am I doing something wrong? Has anyone else had this problem?
Had the same problem and just gave up but kept an eye on them. I really am of the opinion that one of the reasons that we went to white eggs in this country is that they're easier for commercial producers to candle for possible defects (blood spots and such.)

So not hatch related but took my wife and daughter with me to the feed store to get what we need to set the brooder up for our hatch next week. Weeellll. We ended up having to set the brooder up early because my daughter saw the last 3 little polish chicks in the big tank the keep them in and refused to leave without them. So now I have 3 polish in the brooder with 6 Brahma/barn mix in the incubator due to hatch in a week.

It’s impossible to leave the feed store without chicks especially if you bring kids with you!🤣
You will love the Polish birds. They have very different quirky personalities and are very friendly, at least the two that I have. Interestingly enough I have a half Polish have Silkie chick, that has the personality of the Polish more than the Silkie. Very friendly and they are excellent flyers be warned!😊

Today I set my eggs - 15 shipped bantam Silkie eggs which arrived yesterday - AND 20 eggs - bantam Brahma x Deutsches Buschhuhn-Mixes eggs - from my friend who lends me the incubator (it came a bit sudden).

Ha, those babies are hard to resist. Polish chickens are so pretty too.

I was told about 20 minutes ago that I'm not allowed to go back to tractor supply because I may have brought home all the bantams they had and set up the brooder early to accommodate them.
We still have a bit over two weeks until our current eggs hatch, but this might mean I won't be allowed to set so many next time.
