Yard eggs are delicious.
Might get lucky get double yolk's yummy.
Don't worry if you get lucky you'll get a few
hens that will take care of the brooding for you.
Least we did Shes now setting on her 2sd hatch.
Been there for about 2 weeks now. She gave us 7 chicks
on her first setting. Raised them for a few weeks then
decides she wants to set again. So chicks are being raised
in another big kennel till there big enough to put in general
population. Then got to deal with her hatching more. So
haven't bought any chicks this year. Was planning on getting
some Americauna/Easter Egger's since she started being the
setting queen didn't. They are the only ones I'm still wanting.

Does your bedroom temp drops? Too close to window? Maybe u didn’t clean after the last hatch? Sometime the sensor gets loaded with chick fuzz causing for error on reading?

I turn the heat down at night before I go to bed, but it also went off sometime in the afternoon, which is the warmest part of the day. It sits about three feet from my window, but that's it's usual spot. Although it did get much colder than it usually does in the past week. I cleaned it before this hatch, but I know there is some chick fuzz up there that I've been meaning to clean out, so I'll try doing that. Thank you!

He knows what he’s done ..but I’ve also promised to keep it practical..I am going to raise Barred Rocks as a dual purpose bird for both eggs and meat. I plan on keeping a thriving flock..I want the best of both worlds lol..I’m definitely looking forward to a broody hen!! Sounds like you have had luck with that!! Love Easter Eggers!! Beautiful eggs!!

I'm joining as well. I have 150 Maran eggs in my GQF due to hatch on the 7th. Also, I will be setting 300 quail eggs on the 13th. After that, a good amount of Turkey eggs but they will hatch well into April.
I've gotten crazy.

That’s a lot of eggs! I’d love some Marans in my next hatch.

I broke down and candled my eggs today. Most of them look viable! I’ll leave them be until day 14 now.

Hova Bator 1588 was delivered yesterday. Set it up to make sure everything working properly. Was supposed to pick up some fertile eggs today but the breeder said they won't be ready till Saturday. Can't wait to get started.
