March Hatch-A-Long

Is that an EX version? Then we have an exactly the same incubator that I’m using for the Other hatch along. Awesome gadget! Last time I hatched in July I got 6 out 6 all pullets, the 7th egg was not fertile.

I think its just the Mini advanced II. I think the EX has the humidity control or something
else and mine does not have that. I think its the second to newest one. This one was like $180 or something like that the EX was $325 or thereabouts. So that was the deciding factor for me :fl

Welp now I’m confused. I checked my two temp probes and two human thermometers in the warm water bath heated to 100F with the sous vide. They all were within about 0.2 degrees of each other. But when I put them back in the bator (in nearly the same spot) one is reading 99.5 and the other says 98.6! And the one that’s reading low right now was higher earlier. I’m not sure what to think. I guess I’ll just leave it be and see what happens.

I’m a sap head I went for the latter, but my credit card was sorry, I had to hide it from my wife until I did a few work over time to pay for it. Performance and the no baby sitting was all worth it though, placed a sport bottle beside it drop the rubber tube in and humidity was calibrated with auto turning.

I'm in! I've done plenty of hatching before, but still get excited every hatch!
Brinsea Mini Advance incubator (due Mar. 10):
8 serama eggs

Brinsea Maxi II incubator (due Mar. 17):
15 serama eggs
12 mixed breed eggs (they're from a friend's flock, I'm hatching them for him. I believe he has malays, red stars, and modern game birds)

I actually do have a question. The other night, I woke up to my maxi incubator (which is in my bedroom) making an alarm like sound. The top said "ALARM LOW" and the temperature was at 92 F. I didn't know what to do to make it stop, so I just unplugged it and plugged it back in again. The alarm stopped and eventually the temperature went back up to 99.5 F, which is what it's set at. I've never had this problem before, but it happened again two days ago, this time in the afternoon. Seems fine now. What could be causing it?

I just can't see myself ever spending that kind of money on something that only holds 7 eggs but hey to each their own :)

My chickens have their own debit card (Venmo) :duc I sold 30 Marans and olive Eggers chicks, so they are paid for free and clear by August last year, thanks to a friend with 4H connections.

Does your bedroom temp drops? Too close to window? Maybe u didn’t clean after the last hatch? Sometime the sensor gets loaded with chick fuzz causing for error on reading?

I’m disappointed, I thought it’s the Yeti LOL:lol:

I could try and put a bigger hole to adjust but have decided against it. Ther is a small slant in between the cooler and lid maybe three inches with light showing so there’s a bit of ventilation. Also drilled pencil sized holes one on each side of the long side. I’m assuming this will be plenty of ventilation while keeping everything steady.
