March Hatch-A-Long

I'll join in~ :frow I've got two batches due the 4th and 7th. Batch #1 has 18 Tolbunt polish(Frizzled&smooth) 6 Lavender orpingtons, and 11 cream(Crested) legbars. And batch #2 I have 8 call duck eggs. Saving up some more call duck eggs to set on the 2nd of march(hatch date would be the 28th), So far I have 6 saved up, thinking i'll have 20+ saved up for then~
35 eggs? That's a lot. Do you have several incubators or just one?
I like the look of the tolbunt polish. I'd never heard of them before until I went to a big poultry show last year, and they are amazing looking.
Good luck on the hatching; hopefully all goes well.

I've ordered exchequers, have always wanted these. Set 3 days ago - 17 Exchequer eggs, 5 Sapphires (CCL x LH for super blue egg layers), and 4 Iowa Blues to check fertility. Candled a few today, lots of veins in the shipped eggs. Woot!

Mine all sit on theirs but they are collecting eggs now. I have Marans, Barbezieux, Crevecours, and geese arranging and pulling chest feathers to get ready for their long sits.
Those are interesting breeds. Just curious, but do you have any problems with your geese breaking their eggs? My geese will break their eggs if given enough time.

The exchequers are cool looking, aren't they? It seems that your incubation is going well so far with veins in only 3 days! Let's hope everything hatches.

Temperature can be a big problem if not kept stable. Last year, the power went out for several hours in last couple of days of incubation. Thankfully, everything hatched okay, but the temperature got pretty cold.
As for your pets, I completely understand. My cats like to sit on the incubator or on top of the brooder; I think it has something to do with the warmth. (of course the brooder could also have something to do with moving animals that look like fun toys)

Yeah mine was a combo of the cat laying on it, blocking the holes to let some heat and humidity out and then sometimes knocking the top off when it lept off or the dogs rubbing against the table knocking the fan I was using over. Now it's just still air and no pets can access it. I hatched 100% my first hatch but last two zero. These are shipped eggs but hopefully can hatch a few.

I know not directed at me, but when I had a pair of geese my Gucy never broke any of her eggs, but they were Pilgrim geese so not really big breed.

So far all eggs are looking good, lots of movement in them~ The tolbunts are pretty cool looking, Never had them before so i'm pretty excited to have these guys~
I've got 3 1602n hova-bators that hold 50 eggs each and an old incubator (can't remember the brand name) that hold 135 eggs.. If you haven't already noticed i'm a hatch-oholic

I've also got a few chickens that look like they're starting to go broody that i plan on giving eggs, I'll either give them some more calls or bielefelder eggs to sit on~

The one time Gucy tried to hatch her eggs, she did so well and then we got a flash flood and it got high enough to flood out her nest, same year I tried to hatch her eggs in the incubator and went fine till 2 days before due to hatch and then suddenly spiked to 104 overnight because of cat and killed the 4 that looked good to hatch. :he
