March Hatch-A-Long

I loved the Pilgrims. When I get the back fence all fixed up I might get more to put back there. They are color sexed, docile, medium-sized and overall nice geese :)
Female pilgrims look a lot like my toulouse except for white on the face.
You should definitely get more. Geese are wonderful to have in spite of their noisy levels and messiness.

I have 7 Silver Mallard eggs that should hatch Friday the 1st, 15 Ancona duck eggs that should hatch on the 14th and 16 Silver Double Laced Barnevelder that were put in Thursday.
Looks like you'll be expecting a lot of ducks, good luck.
Are silver mallards a different variety of mallard?

Yeah once the back fence is done I'll have some running with the dairy animal(likely cows) and the horse. They were in my backyard and they literally echoed down the street. Neighbors I'm sure were sometimes annoyed but no one complained to my knowledge. They also killed all the grass in the backyard lol So yeah, no more geese till they can be further away from the house.

Thanks for the link but I just filled my mini brinsea with 7 and thats all that will fit.....but maybe next month. This could become an addiction:jumpy

How many did you have?

I started with just a pair and a few ducks, then after 2 years my gander died all of a sudden (supposedly about 5 years old) I got another pair so had a trio. Gucy I believe got pounced on accident by my 120lb dog when He was rough housing and died the next day (also was insanely cold that night too.) So, I got rid of the other two. I wasn't attached to them as I'd only had then about 6 months.
