I’m a sap head I went for the latter, but my credit card was sorry, I had to hide it from my wife until I did a few work over time to pay for it. Performance and the no baby sitting was all worth it though, placed a sport bottle beside it drop the rubber tube in and humidity was calibrated with auto turning.

Yes, I was tempted myself having never done this before but I figured for its just for fun/hobby and if they dont hatch, Ill just try again. LOL about working extra for it. I do the same thing to justify my frivolous spending...I just pick up an extra shift or two and the world is my oyster errrr, wallet yes...the world is my wallet

I actually do have a question. The other night, I woke up to my maxi incubator (which is in my bedroom) making an alarm like sound. The top said "ALARM LOW" and the temperature was at 92 F. I didn't know what to do to make it stop, so I just unplugged it and plugged it back in again. The alarm stopped and eventually the temperature went back up to 99.5 F, which is what it's set at. I've never had this problem before, but it happened again two days ago, this time in the afternoon. Seems fine now. What could be causing it?[/QUOTE]

I have no idea but have you used this a bunch of times? Maybe the coils that supply the heat need to be cleaned. Maybe they are covered in dust or chicken dander or something and cannot work efficiently so your temp is dropping? I guess its better than it getting too hot and your hatch will still probably be fine. Momma hens do get off the nest now and again.. Good luck and keep us in the loop

As of today, I have Jersey Giants due to hatch on March 1st, Turkeys and Easter Eggers due March 8th, and Duck eggs due March 15th.

I couldn’t resist candling a few days early. I didn’t do all of them, (I’ll save that for Friday evening) just a few samples. I saw a definite vein in one of my blue eggs and I snagged a pic of one of the ducks - it was just so beautifully clear! Little baby spider
