Thanks Cynthia.

So you think no movement is maybe ok?

If the air sacs look good, and you are seeing veining, then it sounds good to me. Sometimes, as they get bigger, some are little lazy babies in there.

I just did my big candle tonight on my Serama. I tossed 3 clears and two funky ones, similar to that picture I posted a few days ago. I'm down to 9 now with hatch day next Thursday. When I was candling tonight, I candled egg #8, who usually does a little dance in the shell, and I was really disappointed when I was not greeted by this little guys' dance... Does that mean he's a quitter because there was no movement? Or is there still hope? I'm candling again on Friday to toss anymore quitters and see if I can put the turner back in so I don't have to keep hand turning.

Went into lockdown tonight! Originally set 48. Culled clears and a blood ring about halfway through. Culled two more quitters over the past two days. 40 made it to lockdown. Happy hatching everyone! :D

I have a BO/EE mix! She lays a cute green egg :D
There she is with her mama

AWESOME! Thanks for the picture! That's probably what they'll look like too. They're just ever so slightly darker than a buff. I woke up this morning to ALL SIX BO/EE mix chicks hatched and running crazy in the bator. Now I have four BO eggs, one BO/? mix and six buff brahmas. Two of the BB have pipped but I can't see if there's progress because the hatched chicks are stirring things up something awful. I had nightmares last night about hatching eggs too. Luckily I woke up to none of them being true. Day 21 here.

Hi all, I set 36 black copper maran on the first of march. These were shipped eggs and I candeled at day 10 pitched 14. I broke them all open and nothing was going on a few had blood rings. This is the first time I have tried candeling and I've been looking at all the charts online to try to tell wich ones should be pitched. I had a couple that had good aircells but no light could pass throght the liquid part it was solid balck. Does anyone know what this means?

It sounds like chicks are on the way!!!

Sometimes they don't move when candled. They are "sleeping."
