March Hatch-Along Thread- Come Hatch With Us!!!!!

Ok here are pics of my frizzle/sizzle? chicks- they are 3 days old today- just took these a few min ago. They were not happy little campers about it either. As you can see they are camera-shy. And so tiny. I'm concerned about the little blk one, seems weaker they the blue one...

Oh you know I'm loving those colors!

gape, I just noticed as I was catching up, that you are in lock down! Good luck. Now you've hatched before, it's a sinch, right? Ha, we all worry during lock down. No matter how long we've hatched.

Lockdown starts at 3pm today!

I just weighed/candled everyone and all but two outliers have lost the appropriate amount of weight! The two cochins with weird %'s have perfect aircells though...so I'm thinking something was wonky with my scale during the initial weigh in or...I have no idea.

Here's my system!

You too? Everybody is having lock down and chicks already! Good luck!

24?   :th   How many did you set?   Waiting for the fluffy pictures.

My first hatch this year was with shipping eggs 24 total, 10 duds at day 10 and only 5 hatched.
This time I did my flocks eggs for the time had 100% fertility throw out 4 duds at day 10 and 3 on day 18. I set a total of 41, 34 went into lockdown.

Well I tried my first hatch last month and was a total failure. Made some upgrades on incubator and temp/humidity gauge. Setting at 6Am. I'm going to do a few things different this time to see if it will help. I have 15 eggs I collected. Most from my production reds. Throw in 2 RIR/EE eggs for the heck of it. Why not lol. Going to try the dry method this time around. Humidity at 37%-Temp at 100. So I guess well go from there. Won't candle till day 7, so I guess I will give update from there.

I actually don't like waiting until day 7 because that's the most vital turning time in incubation. I waited 3 days with my shipped eggs that had jiggly air cells, and then started to turn them (I incubate in cartons). Air cells are stabilized now and lockdown is tomorrow :)
